About Us
John Kneece is the person behind Underground Storage Training and Consulting, LLC.
John has lived in the midlands of South Carolina for 17 years, retiring from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control in January 2009.
Prior to that he served in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1992 as a Lieutenant Colonel. While in the Air Force, his specialty was training and strategic operations.
He is a graduate of Clemson University and Troy State University. He is an outdoorsman, gardener and craftsman. He and his wife live in Batesburg-Leesville, SC.

- Seventeen years as the manager of South Carolina’s nationally acclaimed state UST compliance program
- Contributor to Petroleum Training Solutions online inspector and operator training programs
- Contributor to Petroleum Equipment Institute operator training program
- Co-presenter with Steel Tank Institute on corrosion protection issues at National Tanks Conference
- Member of National Work Group on Leak Detection Evaluation for 9 years
- Master’s Degree in Adult Education
EXPERIENCE
- Sixteen years experience as a UST compliance inspector trainer
- Trained the UST compliance inspector group for the State of South Carolina
- Presented UST inspector training sessions for:
- USEPA Region IV – basic and advanced
- USEPA Region III
- National Tanks Conference
- State of Kentucky
- USAF Master Instructor and on the faculty of the USAF Squadron Officer School and ICBM Combat Crew Training Squadron
